Scheduler Configuration: Auto-Scheduler Settings.
The Resource Scheduler 'Auto-Scheduler' function allows you to quickly allocate available resources to your Campaigns over user-selected blocks of time. The function will automatically allocate your Advisors' time against your selected Campaigns, ensuring that both Advisor time availability and Campaign time requirements are met automatically. This page of the Scheduler configuration options dialog allows you to set parameters that define how the Auto-Scheduler function operates.
| • | Schedule maximum hours to each available Resource Sequentially: Selecting this option will make the auto-scheduler allocate all available time for each resource in turn. For example, if you were scheduling 100 hours to a Campaign over a working week, Advisor A (who had 40 hours available in the working week) would be fully scheduled with 40 hours allocated; Advisor B (who had 40 hours available in the working week) would be fully scheduled with 40 hours allocated, and then Advisor C (who had 40 hours available in the working week) would be only partially scheduled with 20 hours allocated, to make up the target allocation of 100 hours to be worked on the Campaign. The way each sequential resource is selected depends on the following settings: |
| ► | Use Auto-Scheduling Priority Preference: Selecting this option will make the Auto-Scheduler select each available resource based on their 'Auto-Scheduler Priority Preference', which can be defined in the Individual Advisor Settings. The Priority Preference is a value for 0 (high) to 9 (low), with a default of 5 ... using this option will cause the auto-scheduling function to use Advisors with the highest priority first. |
| ► | Use Advisors with most unallocated time first: Selecting this option will make the auto-scheduling function allocate time to Advisors who have the most available time in the period being scheduled. |
| • | Balance Scheduling equally across all available resources: Selecting this option causes the auto-scheduling function to divide the amount of time to be allocated to the Campaign across all Advisor resources which are able to work on the Campaign. For example, if you wished to allocate 100 hours of time to your Campaign (where there were 4 Advisors who were able to work on this Campaign), each Advisor would have up to 25 hours of time allocated. |
| • | On Auto-Schedule, use this default Time Allocation Percentage: This option defines the default time allocation percentage to use when auto-scheduling. Note that this value will be taken into account when the program attempts to fulfill Campaign time requirements - for example, if your default Time Allocation Percentage is 50%, then 80 hours of Advisor's time would have to be allocated to fulfill 40 hours time allocated to the Campaign in question for the period chosen. |
| • | Smallest Time Unit to be used when Auto-Scheduling: When you use the auto-scheduling function, the program will check through the schedules of the Advisor(s) to be used, looking for any available time that can be allocated to Campaign work (in order to fill your Advisor's schedules, and avoid leaving blank, unallocated time). This value defines the smallest unit of time that the auto-scheduler will use to allocate to Campaign work. Note that any unallocated time for any Advisor can be easily checked and seen throughout the Scheduler program displays. |
| • | Scheduler 'Morning/Afternoon/Evening' hours only: These entries define the cut-on and cut-off times when you're scheduling Morning, Afternoon or Evening work only ... |
