The Resource Allocation Pane

The Resource Allocation Pane in the main Scheduler window is constantly updated to reflect your selections - the Campaign(s) you're looking at, the Advisor(s) allocated, and the range of dates you've chosen. This Pane operates in two modes - you can view information on the time availability of your Advisors, or the resourcing requirements of your Campaigns. You can change the view mode from 'Advisors' to 'Campaigns' and vice versa by simply selecting the relevant option above the data display.

You can also choose a default date range for viewing your resource allocations (by selecting from the drop-down options available on the top right of the pane), or 'bind' the date range selected to your current Calendar Selection.

You can set the default start-up view for your Resource Allocation pane by selecting the default Target Resource Allocation view in the Program Options.

The information display in the Resource Allocation pane is dependent on factors such as your Advisors' default (or custom) Daily Working Pattern, and your Campaign Hours settings. These values are used to work out the Target Hours for your Advisor or Campaign for the current range selected. The value for Scheduled Hours is the total hours scheduled for the Advisor or Campaign for the current period selected. The Difference is the amount of hours that require to be scheduled, either to meet your Campaign time allocation requirements, or to ensure that your Advisor's time is fully allocated.

As in the above picture, colours are used as a visual indication of current status -

An entry in Green indicates that the Advisor or Campaign is fully scheduled. Note that although you'll still be able to schedule more time to a Campaign (even if it's fully allocated), you won't be able to over-allocate an Advisor's time.
An entry in Black indicates that the Campaign or Advisor has had some time scheduled in the period - however more time is required (as displayed in the 'Difference' column) to bring the amount of time on Target.
An entry in Red indicates the no time has been allocated against the Campaign or Advisor for the selected period.

Note that the hours displayed in the data grid are expressed in Decimal Format (for example, 1 hour and 45 minutes is displayed as 1.75 hours). This display convention is used throughout the Scheduler.

The date range used to calculate the current Target Resource Allocation display is set from the drop-down box:

Your selection from this box will be remembered and applied across your Scheduler sessions. If you select the 'Custom' option, the Custom Date Selector Window will open, allowing you to select your own user-defined range of dates:

With the exception of the 'From Calendar' option, the values you select here will remain static, irrespective of your current selection on the Scheduler Calendar Pane.

Right-clicking on an entry in the Resource Allocation pane will bring up the associated Context Menu, which provides quick-access options for Adding a Scheduled Item, setting Campaign or Advisor allocation settings, Printing, Exporting, or Formatting the current display:
