The Scheduling Pane

The Scheduling Pane displays time allocated to your Advisors and Campaigns using the popular Microsoft Outlook™ calendar display. Allocated time is displayed as a coloured block (shaded dependent on the options you've specified). Additionally, text on the time allocation block indicates the Advisor or Campaign the time is allocated to (depending on your current mode of operation), and can also display any specific notes you care to make. When there are quite a few blocks on your Schedule, hover over one of them to view detailed information in a Tool-Tip (as in the picture above).

In the Scheduling Pane, you can select any item by clicking on it with the mouse. Once an item is selected, it will be displayed with a dark border with 'Grab-Handles' - these handles allow you to alter the duration of the item (by dragging to change its size on the schedule display). You can also move the selected schedule item by dragging it with the mouse - you can move it within the same day (by dragging up and down), or to a completely different day (by dragging it left to right). When you change the duration (or day) of your selected item, the details displayed in the Resource Allocation data grid will be updated to reflect your changes.

Note also that, when you move or alter an existing Scheduled item, the Scheduler program performs a series of validity checks on the new values - if your changes fail validation, the Scheduled Item will automatically be moved back to its original place.

Changes to a scheduled item's values, such as start and end time, notes, or day, can be quickly undone or re-done using the 'Undo' and 'Redo' buttons on the toolbar (when available):

Note that Undo and Redo actions do not apply when a scheduled item is deleted.

The Scheduling Pane Commands

Right-clicking with your mouse will bring up the Scheduler Pane context menu, which provides quick access to the commands available to you:

These commands allow you to Add new items to your Schedule, as well as to Edit or Remove the selected Schedule item. You're also able to Cut or Copy a Scheduled Item, and quickly Paste it to another day. There are also Schedule Navigation Shortcuts, to let you quickly move to the next or previous scheduling period.

These commands, and how to use them, are covered in detail in the following section of this manual: Managing your Schedules.
